Frequently Asked Questions

When should I call to schedule my child’s flu vaccination?

We typically begin receiving our flu vaccines in mid to late September each year, but this varies according to availability of the vaccine, shipping times, and various other factors. Please mark your calendars to begin contacting our office around that time in order to schedule for your child’s vaccination against the flu.

Where can I find out information about recalled toys and other items?

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission keeps a record of recalls, as well as product safety news. Visit their website at http://www.cpsc.gov/ for more information.

Do you have a “well child” section in your waiting room?

Yes! When you enter our waiting room, the area to the right is strictly for newborns and children who are here for their well child physical exam.

What is your office’s policy on completion of paperwork (e.g., school/daycare forms, medication administration forms, etc.)?

Due to the large volume of requests that we receive for paperwork completion and physician signatures on forms, most items can be completed and available for pickup within 2 business days. For your convenience, we are happy to fax your completed forms if you include the fax number on your form. We regret that we cannot complete paperwork for your child if your portion has not been completed in its entirety, so please make sure that this information, including your child’s name and date of birth, is completed prior to dropping off or faxing your form.

What should I do if my child will be traveling outside of the United States?

Depending upon your destination, it may be necessary for your child to receive certain immunizations and/or medications to ensure his/her protection against disease. Therefore, please contact our office at least two months in advance of your departure date so that we can make sure that your child receives all of the necessary medical treatment prior to your trip.

Are there any vaccinations you recommend for parents?

We recommend that parents consider their own vaccination against pertussis and the flu. These diseases are easily passed on to infants by family members and caregivers. Check with your family doctor to see if your immunizations against these diseases are current and what your doctor's specific recommendations are for you.
